Today I write not to gloat. Given the pain that nearly everyone is experiencing, that would be entirely inappropriate. Nor am I writing to make further predictions, as most of my forecasts in previous letters have unfolded or are in the process of unfolding. Instead, I am writing to say goodbye.
Recently, on the front page of Section C of the Wall Street Journal, a hedge fund manager who was also closing up shop (a $300 million fund), was quoted as saying, "What I have learned about the hedge fund business is that I hate it." I could not agree more with that statement. I was in this game for the money. The low hanging fruit, i.e. idiots whose parents paid for prep school, Yale, and then the Harvard MBA, was there for the taking. These people who were (often) truly not worthy of the education they received (or supposedly received) rose to the top of companies such as AIG, Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers and all levels of our government. All of this behavior supporting the Aristocracy, only ended up making it easier for me to find people stupid enough to take the other side of my trades. God bless America.
There are far too many people for me to sincerely thank for my success. However, I do not want to sound like a Hollywood actor accepting an award. The money was reward enough. Furthermore, the endless list those deserving thanks know who they are.
I will no longer manage money for other people or institutions. I have enough of my own wealth to manage. Some people, who think they have arrived at a reasonable estimate of my net worth, might be surprised that I would call it quits with such a small war chest. That is fine; I am content with my rewards. Moreover, I will let others try to amass nine, ten or eleven figure net worths. Meanwhile, their lives suck. Appointments back to back, booked solid for the next three months, they look forward to their two week vacation in January during which they will likely be glued to their Blackberries or other such devices. What is the point? They will all be forgotten in fifty years anyway. Steve Balmer, Steven Cohen, and Larry Ellison will all be forgotten. I do not understand the legacy thing. Nearly everyone will be forgotten. Give up on leaving your mark. Throw the Blackberry away and enjoy life.
So this is it. With all due respect, I am dropping out. Please do not expect any type of reply to emails or voicemails within normal time frames or at all. Andy Springer and his company will be handling the dissolution of the fund. And don't worry about my employees, they were always employed by Mr. Springer's company and only one (who has been well-rewarded) will lose his job.
I have no interest in any deals in which anyone would like me to participate. I truly do not have a strong opinion about any market right now, other than to say that things will continue to get worse for some time, probably years. I am content sitting on the sidelines and waiting. After all, sitting and waiting is how we made money from the subprime debacle. I now have time to repair my health, which was destroyed by the stress I layered onto myself over the past two years, as well as my entire life – where I had to compete for spaces in universities and graduate schools, jobs and assets under management – with those who had all the advantages (rich parents) that I did not. May meritocracy be part of a new form of government, which needs to be established.
On the issue of the U.S. Government, I would like to make a modest proposal. First, I point out the obvious flaws, whereby legislation was repeatedly brought forth to Congress over the past eight years, which would have reigned in the predatory lending practices of now mostly defunct institutions. These institutions regularly filled the coffers of both parties in return for voting down all of this legislation designed to protect the common citizen. This is an outrage, yet no one seems to know or care about it. Since Thomas Jefferson and Adam Smith passed, I would argue that there has been a dearth of worthy philosophers in this country, at least ones focused on improving government. Capitalism worked for two hundred years, but times change, and systems become corrupt. George Soros, a man of staggering wealth, has stated that he would like to be remembered as a philosopher. My suggestion is that this great man start and sponsor a forum for great minds to come together to create a new system of government that truly represents the common man's interest, while at the same time creating rewards great enough to attract the best and brightest minds to serve in government roles without having to rely on corruption to further their interests or lifestyles. This forum could be similar to the one used to create the operating system, Linux, which competes with Microsoft's near monopoly. I believe there is an answer, but for now the system is clearly broken.
Lastly, while I still have an audience, I would like to bring attention to an alternative food and energy source. You won't see it included in BP's, "Feel good. We are working on sustainable solutions," television commercials, nor is it mentioned in ADM's similar commercials. But hemp has been used for at least 5,000 years for cloth and food, as well as just about everything that is produced from petroleum products. Hemp is not marijuana and vice versa. Hemp is the male plant and it grows like a weed, hence the slang term. The original American flag was made of hemp fiber and our Constitution was printed on paper made of hemp. It was used as recently as World War II by the U.S. Government, and then promptly made illegal after the war was won. At a time when rhetoric is flying about becoming more self-sufficient in terms of energy, why is it illegal to grow this plant in this country? Ah, the female. The evil female plant – marijuana. It gets you high, it makes you laugh, it does not produce a hangover. Unlike alcohol, it does not result in bar fights or wife beating. So, why is this innocuous plant illegal? Is it a gateway drug? No, that would be alcohol, which is so heavily advertised in this country. My only conclusion as to why it is illegal, is that Corporate America, which owns Congress, would rather sell you Paxil, Zoloft, Xanax and other additive drugs, than allow you to grow a plant in your home without some of the profits going into their coffers. This policy is ludicrous. It has surely contributed to our dependency on foreign energy sources. Our policies have other countries literally laughing at our stupidity, most notably Canada, as well as several European nations (both Eastern and Western). You would not know this by paying attention to U.S. media sources though, as they tend not to elaborate on who is laughing at the United States this week. Please people, let's stop the rhetoric and start thinking about how we can truly become self-sufficient.
With that I say good-bye and good luck.
All the best,
Andrew Lahde

Anti-Zionist Austrian politician Haider's widow believes death 'not an accident'
The widow of Joerg Haider believes the far-right Austrian politician's death in a car crash may not have been an accident and has saved his body from cremation for a second post mortem, a Vienna newspaper has reported.
Last Updated: 8:36AM BST 24 Oct 2008
Today cited senior members of Mr Haider's party as claiming that his widow Claudia had doubts about the official explanation of her husband's death and wanted a further examination by a coroner, possibly in Italy.
The paper suggested that Mr Haider's body was abruptly withdrawn from a planned cremation on Saturday. It said Mrs Haider feared her husband may have been drugged.
Theories that the charismatic politician, 58, was assassinated have simmered in Austria since the crash on Oct 11.
Party sources pointed to the fact that there were no tyre skid marks as evidence Mr Haider was unconscious when he crashed, Today said.
Last week, a Volkswagen spokesman said the speed at which Haider was driving – 88mph – although nearly double the speed limit, should ''not have been a problem for the car's physics'' on the curved road.
Mr Haider's car, a VW Phaeton, struck a pillar and flipped near the city of Klagenfurt. The governor of the state of Carinthia, was nearly four times over the legal blood alcohol limit.
Stefan Petzner, his protégé, has been linked to Haider romantically by Austrian media after Mr Petzner said: "We had a relationship that went far beyond friendship. Me and Jorg were connected by something truly special. He was the man of my life."
Mr Petzner briefly succeeded Mr Haider as leader of the Alliance for the Future of Austria but was sacked after his tearful revelation.
Mrs Haider declined to comment to the Austrian paper about the plan for a further post mortem. A spokesman for the party yesterday also refused to comment on the story to the Telegraph.
Mr Haider, who rose to notoriety in the late 1990s as leader of the far-right Freedom Party, died just days after his new party more than doubled its vote in Austria's national election.

Israeli Mossad Chief Meir Dagan killed in Jordan?
Some reports announced the assassination of Israeli Mossad chief Meir Dagan in the Jordan’s capital Amman
Based on a report by Terror Victims Information Base, the Israeli Mossad chief Meir Dagan has been killed in an explosion in the capital Amman, but there are some contradictory reports about the news, the Israeli FILKA website reported.
According to the report, he was targeted when he was moving from a villa in the national park to the residence of Jordan’s king Malek Abdullah II for holding a private visit.
Even if, Dagan has not been assassinated in the operation, there is a big failure for Mossad and Jordan and also a big victory for the attackers. How did the attackers find that Dagan was passing from the region or how did they were informed about the presence of Israeli Mossad chief Meir Dagan in Jordan

The Constitution Ours, the Statutes Theirs Part 1, by FranG
Often much is made in the way of observing the laws of the land. But have you ever wondered what exactly is "law," and where exactly does it comes from? It is ironic that the intricacies of such a powerful force in our society is known by so few people. Hundreds upon hundreds of laws are passed each year at the federal and state levels, allegedly due to the increase in the population and complexity of society. In regards to the complexity of organizing and compiling the current laws of Illinois, the Legislative Reference Bureau states:
"The 1874 Revised Statues were the last official organization of the statutes prior to ILCS taking effect on January 1, 1993. That is a span of 119 years, from Presidents Grant through Bush and Governors Beveridge through Edgar. The world has changed more in those 119 years than probably any other period of history; and, as a consequence, the number and mass of statutory laws have exploded. The number of Acts has increased from 250 to approximately 2,000, the number of printed volumes from one (printed one column per page) to 6 (printed two columns per page) in the 1991 edition of the Revised Statutes."
I think all would agree that when the gap between the complexity and the level of understanding of a subject increases, so too does the potential for misinterpretation of that subject increase. Also, because the laws are administered by only a few individuals, who presumably understand the subject, the potential for those individuals to defraud the individuals who do not understand the subject is equally as great. Thus, it is the attempt of this writing to narrow the gap of understanding of the law between those who administer it, and those who are subject to their obedience.
Constitution is the Source of All Law
The Constitution of the United States is the Supreme Law of the Land. For the areas of regulation untouched by the federal constitution is the constitution of the several States. Unlike the laws of the United States, and those of the several States, the constitutions are very short documents and are easy to comprehend. They are established by the people of the states, and all laws that stem from them must be harmonious with them to be binding on the people-at-large.
Unlike the constitutions, the laws of the land are written by lawyers. Lawyers are those well versed in the subject of law, and represent a subset of the population-at-large. Unfortunately when lawyers write laws, they are not written for the layman's understanding, but expressed in the language of the lawyers. In a perfect society where everyone is honest, this is not a problem as the only need for understanding the law would come from a violation of the federal or state constitution, which are understood by the layman. But with a complex society, you get complex people who will attempt to steal from you your life, liberty, and property.
Law Dictionaries and Statute Glossaries
In the United States, the language spoken by the mass of the people is English. Dictionaries attempt to provide meaning of the words used in the everyday vernacular of the people. As mentioned earlier, lawyers have a vernacular of their own, and thus law dictionaries have been created for those unfamiliar with the language. Common citizens when dealing with the law must consult these dictionaries or they will be lost in a web of legalese. Legislators are aware of this fact as well, and in writing laws often place a glossary section in the text to assist the layman with its interpretation. Accordingly, words which mean one thing in the common language of the people can mean something totally different in the language of a law or statute. It is of extreme importance to know that constitutions are written in the language of the common people of the land, and laws and statutes, which are written in the language of the lawyers, are subordinate to them.
Basic Terminology
Because we are first concerned with meanings that represent the community at large, we will look up various definitions in a general dictionary of the English language, specifically Merriam Webster Online.
law - 1 a (1): a binding custom or practice of a community : a rule of conduct or action prescribed or formally recognized as binding or enforced by a controlling authority (2): the whole body of such customs, practices, or rules (3): common law
From the above definition, we see that the law is merely the custom of the people, only that it is "binding" and "formal." We see here that the law should match our "customs," i.e., our "constitutions."
custom - 1 a: a usage or practice common to many or to a particular place or class or habitual with an individual b: long-established practice considered as unwritten law c: repeated practice d: the whole body of usages, practices, or conventions that regulate social life
Notice that the word common is used in both the definitions of law, and custom. Just for good measure, let's define common.
common - 1 a: of or relating to a community at large : public
So it can be seen that the word common deals with the community as a whole. It follows then that the laws relating to the community-at-large, or the public, should be common laws. The customs of the people are the "unwritten law" of the land, however the constitutions are the outline for the written laws.
constitution - 1: an established law or custom : ordinance 2 a: the physical makeup of the individual especially with respect to the health, strength, and appearance of the body (a hearty constitution) b: the structure, composition, physical makeup, or nature of something
So we can see that from the constitutions stem the various laws of the land. It should be noted however, that although the constitutions are documents dealing with common law, not all laws stemming from them pertain to common law principles. One may be tempted to suggest that any law other than a common law is unconstitutional, but such a suggestion would be flawed; as will be explained below.

China's Billionaires Lose a Third of Wealth in Credit Crisis
Plunging property and share prices knocked a third off the average wealth of China's billionaires in the first fall for seven years.
By Malcolm Moore in Shanghai
Last Updated: 1:42PM BST 08 Oct 2008
The 50 richest people in China were worth $2.43 billion (£1.4 billion) on average, down from $3.63 billion in 2007, according to an annual list from Hurun.
Back in first place, with a personal fortune of USD6.3 billion, was 39-year-old Huang Guangyu, nicknamed the Price Butcher because of the discounts available at Gome, his electrical retail empire. Mr Huang has topped the list three times in the last five years.
His elevation knocked Yang Huiyan, the 27-year-old heiress who was given a controlling stake in Country Garden, an enormous property developer, into third place.
Miss Yang saw her personal wealth plummet from $17.5billion to $4.9 billion as the share price of Country Garden nose-dived and jitters derailed the Chinese property boom.
Zhang Yin, the chairwoman of Nine Dragons Paper, who was the first woman to top the rich list in 2006, lost $8.4 billion after shares of her scrap paper company dropped by 86 per cent.
Two more property tycoons also suffered badly. Xu Rongmao, chairman of Shimao, lost $4.4 billion and Zhang Li, co-chairman of Guangzhou R&F properties, lost $3.6 billion.
China was home to 101 people with $1 billion or more of personal wealth, declining from 106 last year, according to Hurun.

700 Billion Dollar number Legitimizes Multi-Trillion Dollar Extortion
Suspension of Elections/War With Iran Imminent?

The Bailout Smokescreen
Hank Paulson, extortionist extraordinaire
Sound American economics promoters have been pulling their hair out for years warning Americans of what is happening right now. What the mainstream economic "experts" and bankers call the "business cycle" is nothing more than the grinding of the economy up and down through compounded debt bubbles. These debt bubbles usually deflate into "recessions," but sometimes burst into "depressions." The sub-prime mortgage collapse is a perfect example of this.
Now the Congress, with this bailout-which was roundly rejected by the American people-has once again slapped the people in the face by passing it, even referring to it in genuine Orwellian fashion as "the Rescue Plan."
To imply that a few dozen of the richest individuals in this country (most of whom received multi-million dollar bonuses this last year) need to be given more of OUR money after losing all of theirs through bad business decisions is like saying O.J. Simpson didn't just go to jail today for kidnapping and armed robbery (because he did).
The most important factor, however, is that this "$700 billion" number is a smokescreen. As of the week before the bailout was first rejected by the House, the Federal Reserve had already lent out over a TRILLION dollars to failing lenders. This is two weeks ago now. The number has shot up since then...
So while we've been bitching and moaning about this "bailout" in Congress, the Fed has already surpassed their obscene price tag in spades.
Please understand what is happening right now: the rats are scurrying from the burning and sinking ship of our economy. This is completely preplanned, as one of the few things standing between total world domination and the New World Order are these united States, and our super-power status. This status served the NWO well for decades, but our usefulness to their nefarious purposes has expired, I'm afraid. Now they are ready for their one world government-itching for it-and we must be turned into a third world nation before all can be set in place.
Those whose "credit" has been falsely propping up our economy are now taking their bonuses and splitting town, under the auspices of bad decisions and bankruptcy.
Will Elections Be Suspended?
John McCain Bushing it up...
A couple weeks ago, when this bailout business first came to light, John McCain (the POW who willingly propagandized for the Viet Cong, and blocked the search for MIA's and POW's known to still be in Vietnam) said he would suspend his election campaign until this whole bailout thing got "straightened out." Well, they've straightened it out, alright...
"It's only there trying to fool the public,
but when it comes down to fooling you,
now honey that's quite a different subject..."
---Smokey Robinson
Was this a test for the suspension of the upcoming presidential election? I mean, a judge just ordered Barack Hussein Obama to hand over his birth certificate in order to prove he was born in the united States. McCain's about to keel over, and Bush seems to be relaxed and quasi-fluent for the first time in his presidency (sort of...).
War with Iran?
The Iranian Army is ready to defend its homeland, in contrast to the untrained and under-supplied Iraqis
After the events of the past few months, including the Georgian/South Ossetian/Russian War, and now the Wall Street Bailout-both of which received piles of media attention-I have to take a step back and try to peer through the smoke of battle. Is there anything being hidden behind that smoke, or is the bailout the real news?
War is on the move. The U.S. sent a supposed "aid ship" in the form of a Navy combat vessel to the Georgian coast, in an obvious provocation to the Russians. The Russians replied by threatening back.
The U.S. and Israel both were involved behind the scenes of the Georgian War. Iran is not intimidated by the U.S. at all. Is anyone else seeing the buildup here? Georgia is a perfect position to occupy prior to an invasion of Iran, and we have been aiding, advising and arming the Georgians since 2003.
I suppose only time will tell... We've been waiting for the imminent invasion of Iran for about two years now, and either the war hawks are intimidated by the response of the American people, or their plans have gone awry. I can think of no other explanation--they couldn't possibly care about the fact that we have no money and our military is dangerously and hopelessly over-extended globally. Watch for a false flag attack in the near future. I think they're too afraid at this point to take out a whole city with a nuke, but this financial terrorism can only be interpreted as an introductory phase for worse terrorism to come, and may be correctly interpreted as a false flag attack itself.

Activists (including city council members) Challenge LA Mayor's Expensive June Junket to Israel
Mayor of Los Angeles wants to hand over security of Port and LAX to the Israeli false flag kings
HISTORY WAS made June 25 in Los Angeles City Council chambers when 16 citizens protested the $225,000 purported public relations junket Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa made to Israel in mid-June. In tow were three other council members, Dennis Zine, Jack Weiss and Wendy Greuel, as well as a gaggle of children, spouses and other city officials.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa
The expensive junket also hit a sensitive public nerve. Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez criticized the trip as Villaraigosa pandering to win Jewish votes in the next election. Newspaper editorials voiced cynical objections, as did local radio talk show hosts.
The City Council was broadsided June 25 when polite dissidents stood up one at a time during the public comment session to protest the council’s negotiating with a foreign power before seeking bids from American security services.
As council members largely ignored the testimonies by talking on cell phones or drifting in and out of the chamber, Greta Berlin of Women In Black admonished the city officials:
“Please put down your phones and listen to what I have to say. I’ve witnessed what Israel does at its airport in the name of security. My 80-year-old Holocaust survivor friend was subjected to a cavity body search and I was detained and interrogated for eight hours because both of us advocate justice for the Palestinians. Now our mayor wants Israeli security to turn LAX into this apartheid system where Jews, dignitaries and the rich stand in one line and everyone else in the other line?”
Averred Lillian Laskin of Democratic Westside Progressives: “There are plenty of security consultants in the U.S. to secure our ports without seeking advice from Israel, which has a murky reputation on human rights and labor relations.”
Marcy Winograd, co-founder of L.A. Jews for Peace, wondered: “Why is it these security agreements you signed are making me increasingly insecure? Is it because these consulting agreements are really just a foot in the door to more extensive security agreements with a foreign power implicated in espionage scandals?”
Jeremy Rothe-Kushel questioned the efficacy of Israeli security firms, pointing out that Israeli firms were in charge of security at Logan Airport in Boston and the Newark airport on Sept. 11, 2001, when the terrorists were allowed to board the doomed passenger planes.
Human rights attorney Patricia Barry dropped a bombshell when she stated that federal regulations and the L.A. City Charter probably will pre-empt any agreements Villaraigosa and other council members signed.
“Section 370 of the City Charter stipulates the principle of competition,” she explained, “and that all contracts exceeding $1,000 must have bids from vendors. The mayor excluded this and arbitrarily gave the security contract for our port and LAX without asking for bids from local vendors.”
At the close of the proceedings, Councilman Zine insisted on addressing the dissenters before they left the chambers.
“I paid for some of my trip and it wasn’t a junket,” said the councilman, who described himself as an ex-cop of Lebanese Christian heritage. “We did go to Bethlehem and we did talk to some Arabs.”
However, although in June 2007 Zine led a city council delegation to Lebanon for a Sister City ceremony between Los Angeles and Beirut, he has yet to condemn Israel’s 2006 blanket bombing of southern Lebanon.
Peter Thottam, one of the June 25 speakers, plans to research just who Zine’s political backers are. Carol Smith of the National Lawyers Guild is researching documents to verify if there was a misuse of L.A. Department of Water and Power, international airport and port funds to finance the costly trip.
So, Mr. Mayor, just why are you letting MOSSAD ops roam freely about your airport?
